The Music Studio is an established teaching studio which is owned and operated by Morna Douglas & John McEwen. They provide customized private instruction in piano, voice, guitar, bass, trumpet, ukelele, speech arts as well as theory. The Music Studio proudly hosted The Royal Conservatory of Music examinations each June for many years.
Morna Douglas
Morna Douglas holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Queen's University; a Teachers A.R.C.T. and a Performers A.R.C.T. from the Royal Conservatory of Music and an A.R.C.C.O. from the Canadian College of Organists. She has continued private studies to further enhance her skills and provides innovative instruction to her students. Morna is also a church music director in Smiths Falls and served as the coordinator for the Royal Conservatory of Music for the area.
John McEwen
John McEwen holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Queen's University. He has also studied privately for many years t0 expand his skills as a teacher and performer. He has played in numerous bands including classic rock, rock and country. He's played trumpet, bass and guitar with church music as well. He has a passion for jazz and loves to use the finger style for chord and melody playing.
